Lab 00 - First steps
Lab 00 - First steps
Time: 15 minutes Goal: sign in, find Copilot and check that it sees the prepared company data. Chapter: Introduction to Microsoft 365 Copilot
Button names can differ slightly between versions (web / desktop, new / classic Outlook). If you can’t find a button, open the Copilot pane and ask for the same thing in your own words.
Task 0.1 – Sign in
- On the classroom computer open Edge and go to https://m365copilot.com (or https://www.office.com).
- Sign in with the account from your trainer.
- Open Teams → Team TRAXIA – Vedenie divízií → Files tab.
- Select the folder Školenie Copilot → … → Copy to → My files / OneDrive → Copy here.
- Open OneDrive and check the folder Školenie Copilot – it should contain 10 files. You work with this personal copy all day.
Everyone needs their own files to edit – in the Team you would overwrite each other’s documents. If copying fails, open the Team files in the browser (Files → Open in SharePoint) and use Copy to there.
Task 0.2 – First question over company data
- Open the Microsoft 365 Copilot app (Chat).
- Make sure Work mode is on.
- Type:
Which e-mails did I receive in the last week? Sort them by importance and for each one write in one sentence what the sender wants from me.
- Look at the citations (numbers in the answer) – click one to open the source e-mail.
Task 0.3 – Work vs. Web
Ask the same question twice – once in Work mode, once in Web mode:
What is the D1 WIM Prešov project and what problem does it currently have?
Compare the answers. Why are they different?
Task 0.4 – Prompt Gallery
- In Copilot Chat open Prompts / Copilot Prompt Gallery.
- Find a prompt in the “Catch up” category and try it.
- Save a prompt you like.
Check
- I have my own copy of the files in OneDrive\Školenie Copilot
- In Work mode Copilot listed e-mails from Tomáš, Peter, Martina and others
- I know how to open a source (citation)
The data was loaded into the environment this morning and Copilot’s search may need some more minutes to index it. Make the question more specific (“e-mail from Tomáš Baláž about D1 WIM”), reference the e-mail with /, or open the e-mail in Outlook and use Copilot right there.
